RIPE PDP Update

The Review Phase for Policy Proposal 2024-01 (Revised IPv6 PI Assignment Policy) started on 25 August 2026. Please send any comments to address-policy-wg@ripe.net before 23 September 2026. You can find the proposal and impact analysis is available, as well as the draft document.

NRO NC Nominations 2026: Call to Fill One Seat

Nominations are now open for one seat on the NRO NC, which will be appointed by the RIPE NCC Executive Board for a three-year term beginning on 1 January 2027. We encourage eligible members of the RIPE community who are interested in contributing to the NRO NC’s work to submit a nomination by 23:59 UTC on 30 September 2026.

ASO AC Selects Oscar Robles to Fill ICANN Board Seat 9 Vacancy

The Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) is pleased to announce the selection of Oscar Robles (LAC Region) to fill Seat 9 on the ICANN Board of Directors.

AFRINIC Appoints Mike Silber as Chief Executive Officer

The AFRINIC Board of Directors, with the consent of the Receiver, appointed Mr Silber to the position. He is expected to assume office in January 2027, following completion of the notice period associated with his current employment.

RIPE Labs Article Competition for RIPE 93 Closes Soon

The RIPE Labs article competition is almost over. You have until 2 September to submit your idea for an article that offers value to the RIPE community. The winner will receive free tickets, travel and accommodation for RIPE 93 in Sofia.

We publish information on a wide range of important topics in eight languages - Arabic, Russian, Turkish, Farsi, French, Spanish, Italian and Ukrainian are covered. We are also looking for community volunteers to translate text on our Information Services. If you want information in your language, or would like to volunteer to help translate, check out the RIPE NCC Language Centre.

4. Organisational Update

Sjoerd Wolthers Appointed Chief Technology Officer

We are pleased to announce that Sjoerd Wolthers has been appointed as our new Chief Technology Officer, as of 1 September 2026.

Register Now for the General Meeting October 2026

Registration is now open for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) taking place 28-30 October 2026.

The meeting will be held online for remote participants and onsite at the Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia in Bulgaria alongside RIPE 93.
