RIPEstat Quarterly Planning

We launched this initiative in Q2 2022, and we are open to improving what we publish here and how we do that. So let us know if there are ways we can better present our plans.

We will update this page as our activities progress and continue to share updates on RIPE Labs, on the RIPE NCC Membership Discussion and MAT Working Group (WG) mailing lists, and at RIPE Meetings and other events.

Q1 2026 Plans

Item 1: Continuous UX/UI Improvements

We have released, and continued updating the RIPEstat user interface. We will remove “UI2020” later this year. Over the last quarter, we have closed the final gap between “UI2020” and this UI, by improving the BGPlay and routing consistency elements. You may have also noticed that upstream visibility has a fresh look and works much more smoothly.

We plan to remove the “UI2020” UI on 2 February 2026.

Item 2: Final Operating System Upgrades

We have migrated most of our virtual machines to a new operating system. We will decommission three APIs that are not receiving new data. This allows us to decommission the final CentOS 7 machines and allow us to remove MongoDB from our infrastructure.

We will continue our infrastructure renewal by using (plain docker) containers in production for the main application.

We want the community to contribute to our plans and suggest additional work items. Please share your comments with us on the RIPE NCC Membership Discussion and MAT WG mailing lists. We'll also monitor all the other channels where people talk about these services.

We also invite you to participate in our user research to help us with the development and improvement of the tools and services.
